September 7, 2011

I haven't been on here in a long time!  Well I turned 40 on Aug. 30th.  I had a wonderful Birthday, my good friends, the Birdwell's, made me a wonderful meal at their home,  it was amazing.   God has blessed me with wonderful friends!  Ali, made me a beautiful necklace and gave me a bookmark, and a gift card to yummy Orange Leaf.  My sister-in-law gave me a book of quotes and Bible verses and a mug full of chocolates.  We have yet to go out to eat as a family, but we will soon, planning to go to Chili's.
Loving this cool weather, nice to have the windows open instead of Air Conditioner.  Fall is my favorite time of year, I would love for the temps to stay this way all the time.
Well hopefully it won't take me this long to blog again.  Have a good rest of the week!

August 9, 2011

Well we had our first day of school yesterday.  It went really well!  My daughter, Amanda, started teaching youngest daughter, Cathryn, piano lessons today and she is doing really well!  I have been doing a family devotion with children in the morning.  We wake up at 6:00 a.m., they get all chores done, read Bible on their own, eat breakfast, and then we do our Bible study together.  We each pray and then Do a page out of Spurgeon's devotion book Morning and Evening.  We also learn about one hymn, like who wrote it and the background of the person, then we are going to sing it.  We will learn 1 hymn a week, and we also learn one verse of scripture a week.  Our 1st memory verse is Matthew 6:33.  Then we are ready to start school by around 7-7:30.  That is pretty much our schedule for school.
My prayer is that I will be a patient teacher with my children and that they will have a love and joyful attitude in learning each day.  I thank the Lord that Amanda is assisting me in teaching this year.  She is teaching Andrew, Geometry and doing some English projects with him.  I am so glad she is learning to be a stay at home daughter and Keeper of the Home.  I hope you have a blessed day!

August 1, 2011

I haven't been on here in a while.  trying to get lesson plans ready for school.  We start Aug. 8th. it's just around the corner!     I can't wait to get started and get some organization and structure to our lives.  I hope everyone is staying cool and hydrated in this heat.  I try to stay out of it as much as I can, it feels like it takes my breath away.  Well I am done with my 30 day cleanse, now I'm on the yeast free diet.  It has more food choices, so it won't be so boring.  Well I guess I'll say good-bye for now.

July 21, 2011

I love my new background, my daughter Amanda, helped me fix it!  I get to have her home all the time after Monday, she is quitting work to be a stay at home daughter.  We don't want her under anyone's authority, other than her Daddy's, so she can prepare to learn to be submissive to her husband by being submissive to her father.  She will get to learn how to run a household and help me teach Andrew andCathryn.  I want to train up a Proverbs 31 wife, as I am also learning to be one.
God is good allowing us to be able to do this with her.  I pray all my children will be godly spouses for their future spouses.

July 18.2011

Just finished Joyfully at Home by Jasmine Bauchman, a very good book.  I am going to read Praise Her In The Gates The Calling of Christian Motherhood by Nancy Wilson.  Still doing the devotional Raising Maidens of Virtue with my Daughter, and really good friends Ali and Hannah Birdwell.  A pure delight!

Being a sister in Christ

What I pray that I am as a sister in Christ to my friends: Will listen carefully to all that you're saying, has a gift for empathizing with your crisis situation, won't share your private conversation's with other friends, isn't just listening for information's sake, but because I truly care for you and I want to help, won't allow you to wallow in sin, but will rebuke you if a sin issue is the problem, will give sound, biblical advice, and will have you smiling by the time we hang up the phone, even if the problem isn't completely resolved. This is my prayer that the Lord will help me to be this kind of sister for my sisters in Christ. If you have not read Joyfully at Home by Jasmine Bauchman, I highly suggest her book, I loved it. This is one of the many things I gleaned from her book.

Had a great day at church yesterday!  Sermon was over John 3, over the most misused verse in the Bible which is John 3:16.  God does not love everyone in the world, He came to die  for His elect, world means different people from different parts of the world.  I'm so glad I am part of the elect.  Thank you Lord for choosing me.

I am also glad that the older teens in our church play so well with the younger children in our church.  The older ones can be godly role models for the younger.  That is what's so great about Homeschooling, they get to be with all ages, whereas public school they are only with their age group, which is very unrealistic in the real world.  Our children were all sitting in a circle after church playing a game together, ages ranging from 17-4, that is so good to see them mingling with each other.
Can't wait to start our cooking class in Sept. and for our back to school bash in Sept.  should be really fun.  I am ready for school to start, so there is organization and structure to our day.  We start Aug. 8th.  I have been preparing Cathryn's class schedule for the whole year, just have science and History to finish on lesson plans.  Then need to work on Andrew's.  So thankful my daughter, Amanda, will be here to help me, she is going to be my assistant teacher.  She went for a year to college and decided she is going to be a stay at home daughter, and learn to be a keeper at home.  I am so proud of her decision, God is making her into a godly young woman who will make some man a good wife.

Help us Lord to train our son Andrew and daughters Amanda and Cathryn to be Godly people and future spouses.  Thank you Lord for my family, they are such a blessing to me!  Help me to be the mother I need to be for them, help me to be patient, loving, forgiving, merciful, compassionate, and tender towards them!

What Girls Should Look for in Boys

Listened to a great CD. yesterday by Voddie Bauchman, the 4 P's.  He talked about how there is a list for men to go by in finding a wife (Prov. 31 and Titus 2) but that there is really not a list like that for men.  He did some studying and found that there is a list after all. Titus chapter 1.  It is the qualifications of Elder's, but he says that should not be just a requirement for Elder's, but for all Christian men.  There is not one thing in that chapter that we wouldn't want our sons to be or our sons-in-law to be.  I never really thought about it, but I totally agree with him.  So Girls when you look for a spouse, look at the qualifications for Elder's and you will find you a good man!

July 14, 2011

It's pretty early this morning, it is 5:50.  Feel alot better today, I didn't have any lettuce yesterday to fix a salad, so I ate fish sticks and sweet potato fries.  Can't do that again, made my sugar go up to 373, I didn't feel so good, prevented me from going to church last night.  I woke up this morning though and sugar was back down to 208, thank you Lord, I give you all the credit for that!
Just please keep me in your prayers as I struggle each day with my Diabetes, I need all the help I can get!  Hope you all have a wonderful Day!

July 13, 2011

Sorry I haven't been on here in awhile, haven't had time!  I am so thankful that God has sent my family Godly friends.  They are the kind of friends you never want to leave.  We got to spend time with our most favorite people yesterday, the Birdwell's.  Thank you so much for your gracious hospitality you always show us.  Ali, Hannah, Amanda, and I are doing a devotion on Raising Maiden's of Virtue which has been a wonderful study and a great time of fellowship.  Ali and I both want to raise Keeper's at Home in our daughters and train our son's to be godly men.  It is nice to have people that are alike in your convictions and beliefs, they are such a blessing to us.  Thank you for going out of your way yesterday to help us get our pool home we really appreciate it.  Love you guys so much!
Update on my sugar levels, they are still going from 250-170, striving to get it lower, blood presure has been good though.  Please just keep praying for me as I'm always in progress with the Lord's help!

July 5, 2011

My family had a good 4th spending time with our family.  On the way to Wetumka we got to listen to the CD What Our Father Taught Us About Boys by the Botkin sisters.  It was saying that our daughters shouldn't be texting, e-mailing or calling boys without their father's consent and vice versa for the boys, he has to go to her father to be able to talk to her too.  It keeps each of them to stay away from defrauding one another, we have adopted that concept.  I love Vision Forum CD's.
We also got to watch the town's fireworks show from my in-laws field.  They put on a great show for a small town.  We had a great time with family.  We took our dog Precious and our cat Leo, Precious did ok, but Leo has never been away from home so he did not do well.  Poor thing stayed under the bed the whole time and would not eat.  He shed his hair like crazy to and from home.  So as a result we won't be taking him on a trip again, it stresses the poor guy to much.  Thankfully he is back to his normal self today!
I hope everyone had a safe holiday!

Progress

Checked my sugar at 3:50p.m. and it is down to 179!  It is finally below 200, God is good!  Ideally it needs to be below 100,  always making progress.....

June 29, 2011

I am so thankful for a godly husband that will lead our family in family devotions even after working 12 hours a day!  We have been reading in the book of Zecheriah lately.  We have also been going through some simple children's catechism's.  Last night's was over What is God?  God is Spirit and does not have a body like men.  John 4:24 God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.  We also go through a verse each night in Proverbs 31 the virtuous woman.  I am striving to be a virtuous wife.  The Lord knows I fail in so many areas daily, but just got to keep asking Him for help daily.  I want to be the woman I know God wants me to be.  Titus 2:3-5 says The aged woman likewise, that they be in behavior as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teacher's of good things: That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their own husband's, to love their children.  To be discreet, chaste, keeper's at home, good, obedient to their own husband's that the word of God be not blasphemed.  I am making that one of my life's goals is to be a Titus 2 and Prov. 31 woman and wife.  So thankful the Lord has blessed me with a wonderful husband and 3 wonderful children.
On my progress on my health, my sugar was 223, gone up a bit from the 200 yesterday, but that's okay, I know I will get it down,  Blood pressure has gone down to 119/88.
Well hope everyone has a wonderful day, those who follow my blog.

                                                                                      May God Bless You.

June 28, 2011

Had a very nice walk this morning with my daughter Amanda.  Kind of humid, but still a cool breeze every now and then.  When I got up this morning my sugar was 216 and blood pressure was 120/84, so I'm still making progress.  Still need to get my sugar down to 120 and maybe even lower.

I skipped carrot juice this morning, but I will have it tonight before supper.  I had a wonderful garden salad for lunch with fresh corn cut off the cob, cucumbers, and yellow squash!  God has been very good to us in our first garden.  Thank you Lord for the good food you have provided for us!  Ijust checked my sugar at 11:50a.m. and it is 200.  woo hoo!  Came down 16 pts from this morning.

Monday, June 27, 2011

Hello!

I would like to start off by saying that I'm very new to the concept of blogging, so be patient with me as I learn!

I would like to use this blog as a tool of accountability as I continue through the raw diet that I'm on.
This is day 11 of a thirty day cleanse.
The reason I started on this lifestyle change is because I am a Diabetic.  Before starting on this journey my sugar had gotten up to 464.  My kidney's were hurting and I did not feel good at all.  My blood pressure was 145/96, since I've started eating raw (no sugar, flour, processed, or cooked food) my blood sugar fluctuates between 208-242.  My blood pressure has gone down to 123/84.  So the Lord is helping me make progress and I pray He will continue to do so!  I am doing this for His glory, my wonderful husband, and my three children, and also myself!  My daddy died from complications due to his diabetes, at the age of 57, I want to be around alot longer than that.  I do not take any medications (although I am supposed to), they just don't seem to work.  I am trying to control it naturally, through my diet and exercise.  Please be in prayer as I go through this journey in my life that I will "Always Make Progress for His Glory"!
